Long Hole Drill and Blast

As mines are developed, long hole drill and blast aids in mine infrastructure and breaking up ore deposits.  Boart Longyear’s™ signature Stope™ drills are able to drill diameters from 5cm to 75cm, depths up to 90m and drill and blast veins as narrow as 0.3m.

These rigs can drill with either pneumatic or hydraulic top-hammers and can convert to an in-the-hole (ITH) hammer using the same equipment. Our equipment is designed to fit into most cages with no disassembly and can tram through openings just under 1.5m by 2m, and is designed to drill directly on contact with back height drilling as low as 2.44m, based on a 1m rod change.
