Used for hand held drilling, hexagonal steel is used exclusively in diameters 22mm (7/8 in) and 25mm (1.0 in). It has a forged collar to maintain the proper striking face position in the rockdrill and to assist in retracting the steel from the hole. Our collar taper rods are available in both 11° and 12° tapers and in all the standard lengths. All of our collar taper rods under 5.52m (18 ft) are carburized because they are most commonly used in underground applications where corrosion resistance is important.
