Boart Longyear Initiates 125th Anniversary Hall of Fame and Invites People to Share Their Boart Longyear Story

SALT LAKE CITY – April 29, 2015 – Boart Longyear (www.BoartLongyear.com), the world’s leading provider of integrated drilling services and drilling products, is marking its 125th anniversary this year by launching The Boart Longyear Hall of Fame, and inviting people to share their Boart Longyear story.

“Our celebrations this year are dedicated to the people who built – and continue to build – our fine Company. The Boart Longyear Hall of Fame is a way we will recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of past and present employees.” Said Kent Hoots, Senior Vice President of Boart Longyear.

“We are inviting nominations of people that have significantly impacted the Company or the mining industry, and who embody Boart Longyear’s values of safety first, ethics and good citizenship, exceptional results, dedication to our clients’ success and mutual trust and respect.” He continued.

Last month, company founder Edmund J. Longyear and his son and former Longyear President, Robert Longyear, were announced as the first inductees at the PDAC Convention.

Admission into The Boart Longyear Hall of Fame is the highest honor that can be bestowed on past or present Boart Longyear employees.

Achievements could be in the areas of: drilling productivity, leadership in the field, engineering, innovation, environment, health and safety or community leadership and support.

Until August 2015, Boart Longyear is accepting nominations of employees – past or present – who have more than 10 years of Company service.

Also as part of the Company’s 125th anniversary, Boart Longyear has launched the Share Your Boart Longyear Story campaign and is inviting people to contribute.

“We believe Boart Longyear’s 125year history is best told by the people who created it. The campaign has uncovered some incredible pieces of history so far including rare video footage of Longyear Australia drilling in Bouganville Island in the 1970s, and photos of Edmund J Longyear as a university student in the early 1800s.” he said.
