The award was presented by the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia (AME BC) and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) at the annual PDAC Convention in Toronto.

Boart Longyear received the award for working more than 1 million hours without recording a Lost Time Incident during 2014.
